About Vidtools

Vidtools is a set of video tools that run entirely in your browser. Compressing, converting, trimming, and extracting audio all happen on your own device, your files are never uploaded to a server.

Most online video tools work the other way around: they send your file to their servers, process it there, and pass the cost back to you as watermarks, file-size caps, and forced signups. Because Vidtools does the work locally, none of that is necessary. The tools are free, produce clean output, and place no limit on file size beyond what your device can handle.

The processing uses modern browser technology (WebCodecs and WebAssembly) so it can be genuinely fast, and everything is built to stay out of your way. If a tool ever can't handle a file, it tells you plainly instead of failing silently.
